Jerusalem Culture Center is a project of The Municipal Absorption Authority and the Ministry of Immigrant Absorption, assists in the absorption of artists in dance, theatre, music, photography, cinema and drama. Located in the center of the city, it offers an easily accessible venue for artist community to meet. Over the years, a number of successful events were sponsored by the Center. Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra, IBA was founded in the 1940s as the national radio orchestra and was known as the "Kol Israel Orchestra". In the 1970s, the orchestra was expanded and became the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra. Since its inauguration, the orchestra's repertoire has been comprised of an exciting combination of the masterpieces of the past and the most exciting musical compositions written in our generation. The orchestra maintains its ongoing varied repertoire ranging from the baroque and the classical periods through the romantic period and reaching to composers of this century, many of whom receive their Israeli premieres with the JSO. The orchestra was the first to perform in Israel the works of the famous Sofia Gubaidolina, Henry Dutilleux, Alfred Schnittke and others. Through the years some of the greatest musicians have performed with the orchestra, among them Arthur Rubinstein, Igor Markevitch, Otto Klemperer, Henryk Szeryng, Isaac Stern, Radu Lupu and Yefim Bronfman. Jerusalem Theater: Centre for the Performing Arts, Jerusalem’s largest and most active cultural centre. Targ Music Center or Ein Kerem Music Center, situated in a historic and picturesque suburb of Jerusalem, is a focal point of music activities, recitals and chamber music concerts. Founded in 1968 by the famed duo pianists Bracha Eden and Alexander Tamir, the center has also been aided by world renowned musicians such as Isaac Stern, Jan Peerce, Jennie Tourrel, Claude Franck and Maureen Forrester. The center encourages and promotes young, gifted Israelis and new olim composers and performers. The wide scope activities of the center encompass weekly concerts held by these talented musicians, seminars, live broadcasts and competitions, many of which are held in cooperation with international institutions. From its early days in the early 1900's Tel Aviv has been a theater center. It was the home to the first Hebrew theater companies: Hakumkum, Theatre of Eretz Israel, Hamatateh and Ha' ohel. Even in today's cinema and home-video era, the popularity of Tel Aviv's theaters has not waned. Not surprisingly, 18 out of Israel's 35 performing arts centers are located in Tel Aviv-Yafo.
Beit Lessin Theater was founded by the Histadrut (Israeli Federation of trade unions) and the Ministry of Education founded in 1980. Its repertoire consists mainly of original drama, but includes also classical and modern plays. www.lessin.co.il
Cameri Theater was established in 1944 and was the first theatre to produce plays in Hebrew. In its fifty years of existence, the Cameri has produced four hundred plays, seen by over twenty million people. www.cameri.co.il
Gesher Theater was established in 1991 by new Russian immigrants and approved as a public theatre in 1993, Gesher is Tel Aviv's youngest theatre, with a bilingual repertoire in Hebrew and Russian. Habima, Israel's national theatre, was founded in Moscow in 1918 and made aliya to Tel Aviv in 1931. Habima (eighty actors and a hundred and twenty employees) is an auditorium complex where four plays are performed daily. www.habima.org.il

Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, based at the Mann Auditorium in Tel Aviv along with the Israel Chamber Music Orchestra. The Israel Philharmonic Orchestra was established sixty years ago and is famous worldwide. In 1996, the orchestra gave 106 concerts in Tel Aviv, attended by audiences totaling 250,000. www.ipo.co.il
Puppet Theatre at Yarkon Park, and the Orna Porat National Theatre for Children and Youth founded in 1970. Orana Porat's theatre is immensely popular and produces some 14 plays a year, with runs totaling 750 performances on the average.
